Oversized, American Style

If talk of a diabetes epidemic weren’t enough or the fact that WalMart’s sided with the First Lady in promoting better health (but still making a 32 oz container of Gatorade $1 and hiding water waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay in the back of the store) or all the problems that go along with being overweight such as a higher risk of cancer and heart disease, maybe this will be a wakeup call?

Americans have gotten so large — widthwise — that buses now have to upgrade their structure to accommodate what the Federal Transit Authority considers the average American weight, which is 175lbs as opposed the to the relatively svelte 155.

Buses aren’t strong enough to cart Americans around.

Buses, as in multi-ton vehicles that squash people are struggling to lift them.
